Who We Are

Scarlet City Church began in 2011 with the mission to be a people joining God’s story of transformation and renewal. Our vision is to see every man, woman, and child in Central Ohio experience the healing and wholeness of the gospel. In order to accomplish this vision, we are committed to equipping, serving, and sending people to multiply disciples, groups, and churches.

Scarlet City Church’s ministry is shaped by three core elements – gospel, community, and mission.

Gospel. Community. Mission.

Scarlet City Church is a gospel community on mission in Columbus. The gospel, community, and mission are the foundational elements to everything we are and do.

Gospel

We believe that the gospel is God’s story of reconciling all things to himself through his Son, Jesus Christ. Once we trust the work and record of Christ, he becomes the hero of our story and begins to work though us. As a church that champions the gospel, we desire to faithfully teach and apply the Holy Scriptures in the context of community.

Community

When people think of church they often think of a building or a Sunday morning event which merely requires their presence. We see church as a people, not a place or event. As such, we see and emphasize the communal nature of the church. In fact, we see ourselves as a gospel family. What makes a gospel community distinct from other forms of gatherings is that we gather to worship God, love one another, and faithfully engage the mission of God.

Mission

We see the church as a gospel community on mission. As a missional church, we want to embody the mission of God corporately and personally. Corporately, we have a mission focus which leads us to equip and send communities of missionaries locally and globally. Personally, we call people to missional living, to embodying the life transforming reality of Jesus in their context. Furthermore, a missional church leads to life transformation and city renewal.
