Sunday Worship Gathering 11 AM @ North Community Lutheran Church
114 Morse Road Columbus, OH 43214 (Map)
Scarlet City Church officially began in the Fall of 2011 with a vision to be a people joining God's redemptive story of life-transformation and city renewal. While Scarlet City is a new church, its message and methods are ancient. We consider ourselves a continuation of the gospel church movement which began when Jesus commissioned his disciples to go to the nations with the life-transforming news of Jesus Christ. Our hope is to join in God's multigenerational story by faithfully bringing the gospel to life in our time and our city.
We invite you to come and see this gospel community for yourself! We gather together weekly for worship at our Sunday services and meet in smaller communities called City Groups throughout the week.
Scarlet City Church is a gospel community on mission in Columbus. The gospel, community, and mission are the foundational elements to everything we are and do.
We believe that the gospel is God’s story of reconciling all things to himself through his Son, Jesus Christ. Once we trust the work and record of Christ, he becomes the hero of our story and begins to work though us. As a church that champions the gospel we desire to faithfully teach and apply the Holy Scriptures in the context of community.
When people think of church they often think of a building or a Sunday morning event which merely requires their presence. We see church as a people, not a place or event. As such, we see and emphasize the communal nature of the church. In fact, we see ourselves as a gospel family. What makes a gospel community distinct from other forms of gatherings is that we gather to worship God, love one another, and faithfully engage the mission of God.
We see the church as a gospel community on mission. As a missional church we want to embody the mission of God corporately and personally. Corporately, we have a mission focus which leads us to equip and send communities of missionaries locally and globally. Personally, we call people to missonal living as people seek to embody the life transforming reality of Jesus in their context. Furthermore, a missional church leads to life transformation and city renewal.
