The apostle Peter is known today as the "rock". He is one of the 12 disciples and was one of Jesus' best friends while Jesus lived on earth. But Peter, just like us, is flawed in nature. He is one of the heros of our faith but ONLY through Christ Jesus. Peter, the rock, denied Christ 3 times yet Christ still loved him. In what ways do we deny Christ?

Gabe deGarmeaux will be preaching from Matthew 26:57-27:2 and John 21:1-19 with a focus on John 21:15-19.

Through the liturgy, we'll celebrate the truth of the resurrection of Christ and how it's made us new!

Reflect on our prayer of confession and our assurance of our faith

Confession

Lord God,
We confess all the ways that we've denied that we know You.
In our actions, we deny You.
When I choose to go without praying to you, I deny You.
When I choose to sin in anger, I deny You.
When I choose to turn my eyes away from those in need, I deny You.
When I choose to try to hide my sin from You, I deny You.
When I choose to be nice to people but never tell them about You, I deny You.
When I choose to talk about your mercy and grace but my actions to speak mercy and grace, I deny you.
When I choose to make this life about me, when I make myself the center of the universe, when, above all else, I worship myself, I deny you.
Father, forgive for denying that we know You.
Hear our prayers and extend Your great mercies to us again.

Assurance of Faith

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8-10 [ESV]

Some songs that we will be singing are:

Lift High the Name of Jesus - A new song for SCC, this song calls us to praise Jesus. We'll recall who He is and what He has done and we'll respond "so sing my soul and tell of all He's done till the earth and heavens are filled with His glory"!

Made Alive - This is the anthem of our assurance: that God has bought us with the blood of Jesus Christ and promised that we'll be with Him for all eternity.

Christ is Risen - Another new song that specifically celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Christ doesn't just mean that Christ lives, it means that we can be alive too!!!

Please join us this Sunday as we celebrate that God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, is able to bring all of us into right standing through Christ's sacrifice and that Christ's righteousness to attributed to us!!! Let's pray together that God's glory would be rightly communicated to all of us. We always pray together at 10am before the worship gathering, all are welcome. Also, we'll have a family meeting after the worship gathering for all covenant members.
