We have just a few more weeks left in the book James. Last week, we looked at what James has to say about worldiness and wisdom. We learned that true wisdom is being completely satisfied by God. Do you also depend on God? Is your safety and hope in Him? Or is it in your bank account or job security? Does your safety come from your spouse or friends? Where should our security and peace come from?

Jay O'Brien will preach from James 4:13-17

Through the liturgy, we'll celebrate how our safety and security comes from God, through Jesus Christ. We'll celebrate that God's will is what's best and it's only through the power of the Holy Spirit that we are able to be obedient to God's will.

You can reflect on Psalm 121:1-8

Some songs we'll be singing are:

"House of God, Forever" - This song is from Psalm 23. God is our ultimate rest and protector.

"You Alone can Rescue" - So often, we can try to save ourselves by our good works. But we can rest in and rejoice in the truth that only God can save us! Our debt was so great that we could not satisfy it ourselves. Only God has the ability to rescue us.

"All I Have is Christ" - We all have a story and what links us is that Jesus Christ is all that we can bring to the table before God. We can't claim our good works or intellect as a way to gain access to God. All we have is Christ! ("Hallelujah" is an expression of joy and praise to the Lord)

"Manifesto" - This song states our beliefs about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and their active role. The chorus simply states "Amen!". "Amen" means that the previous statement is truth or that you agree with it.

Please join us in prayer as we anxiously anticipate Sunday morning, being able to come before God as one people giving praise and worship to Him. See you all on Sunday!
