photo 1.JPGRoughly 30 hours after we began traveling four more of the six of us from Scarlet City Church traveling with Asia’s Hope this summer met up with John McCollum, the executive director of Asia’s Hope and his family in Cambodia. Our own Jared Heveron from SCC has been traveling with the McCollums for two and a half weeks, and Pastor Jay O’Brien will meet up with us in India for the second major leg of the trip.

As for the four of us who just arrived (Danny & Janelle Jackson, my daughter, Lilly, and me) we are pleased to share that apart from being a ridiculously long time of traveling, it was a very pleasant trip.

photo-8.JPGUpon our arrival John reminded us that we’re just about as far from home as we can be before we start getting closer to home again. As that sinks in I can’t help but think about magnitude of truths like:

Psalm 24:1 -The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,

Psalm 33:8 - Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!

Jeremiah 10:12 - It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 5:19 - in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

Matthew 5:14 - You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Monday night, just a few hours before our departure, the four of us reflected on how many specific prayers God has answered for us in regards to this trip. That continued to be true in our travels, so please, keep praying for a safe, fruitful, God-honoring time with the Asia’s Hope family.
