This post is written by Lilly deGarmeaux, 8, in response to going on the Asia's Hope trip with a team from Scarlet City Church.

For my trip to Cambodia and India I was encouraged to answer the question:

How does my life compare and contrast with the kids of Asia’sHope?

Most of the kids I’ve met so far are Christians. The girls love hair styling. They pray like we do. The kids have different feelings, just like I do. They love crafts, like making bracelets. Every kid has their own bed, and they live in houses. And all the kids have parents. All of the kids get to go to school. They love to dance and listen to music. They have a family that cares. The kids have all lost important family members and so have I.

Most of the kids here in Asia speak a different language than me. Most Asia’s Hope kids have bunk beds and I have a trundle bed. They have more sisters and brothers than me. The style of music they listen to is different and their dances look different than mine.

Going across the world to Asia I learned that there are a lot of differences in what our lives are like, but if you look closely, we have a lot of similarities too.

Precious Lilly,
Thank you for sharing with us! You represented The love of Jesus to so many children and adults. Did you ever feel tired or did you miss your mom & brother? Jesus was often tired when He ministered to others too. And He felt lonely sometimes, too. But he persevered and so did you! We praise God that you are home! We love you!

Thank you for your very insightful post about your travels to Asia. I loved watching your trip through your father's posts. This was the perfect ending to a wonderful trip, hearing about it from you! You will always remember this special time and now so will I :-).

Love, Miss Caron (Mr. Mike Juday's mom)

Lilly…I have so enjoyed your post and being a part of your journey across the world. You are blessed to have a Dad that will let you follow your heart and go with him to follow his heart for our Lord and Savior. Keep falling in love with Jesus!
